AUTUMN DRIVE – MAEYSTOWN - LUNCH

Get in your car for a scenic drive with fall colors to the

picturesque village of Maeystown. Nestled in the hills and among

the spring-fed streams in one small spot of Southern Illinois, it was

founded in 1852 by Jacob Maeys, who was born in Oggersheim,

Bavaria, in 1828.

We will meet at 10:00 AM in the Schnucks parking lot at

1000 Columbia Center, Columbia, IL 62236.

We will then drive a scenic route to Maeystown where you will have time at to look

around a get a drink at the local tavern. We will then return to Columbia for lunch.

If it's the first Tuesday of the month, it must be Spassnacht (loosely, fun night) at O'Neill's. Enjoy a casual dinner with your Benz friends or make some new ones. O'Neill's has a private dining room reserved for our use and the full menu is available. O'Neill's is on the NE corner of 95th Street and Mission Road, in Ranch Mart North Shopping Center. Starts at 6:30 p.m. or whenever you can make it if you have to work late.

Please plan on joining your fellow Stars members for dinner at the German-American Club in Louisville on Saturday September 25^th. Here is some info; the attached invite has the details.

Where… 1840 Lincoln Avenue, Louisville, KY 40213 (Lincoln Ave is the first east turn on Poplar Level Rd immediately north of I264. The German-American Club is 0.3 miles from Poplar Level Rd.)

The holidays will be here before we know it. Clear the 5th of December for the Desert Stars Annual Holiday Party - with the always-important Member Anniversary recognition celebration.  It is time to reflect back on 2021as we spend time with friends and fellow members catch up, and enjoy the spirit of the holidays.

We will have live entertainment.  Don’t miss the event.  

The luncheon will be at the Grayhawk Golf Club in the Fairway House. We will have a no-host bar. 

Anniversary celebrants must attend to receive your recognition pins (or you need a really good excuse for not being there!)  So we want to see you! Oh, don’t forget we are collecting for Toys for Tots so please bring an un-wrapped gift! Please see Registration forms for details. Make this holiday season a special one by joining your friends in the Desert Stars Mercedes-Benz club.

JOIN US AS WE HOLD OUR ANNUAL MEMBER CHILI COOKOFF COMPETITION.   IT HAS BEEN TWO YEARS SINCE OUR LAST CHILI COOKOFF.   BRING YOU BEST HOME MADE CHILI AND MEMBERS WILL VOTE FOR A PEOPLE CHOICE AWARD.

IF YOU ATTENDED THE ICE CREAM SOCIAL YOU HEARD THAT WE WERE GOING TO PUSH OFF THIS EVENT TILL NOVEMBER.  WE HAVE HAD A CHANGE IN BOTH LOCATION AND DATES.

THE OCTOBER GATHERING WILL BE AT THE HOME OF JERRY HERRON IN THE BERWICK SUBDIVISION IN BROKEN ARROW.   THE NOVERMBER GATHER WILL BE AT SIEGI'S.
