Southern Stars Section attended the Caffeine and Octane Jacksonville Event!
We had a terrific turnout at Caffeine and Octane Jacksonville, with Mercedes-Benz vehicles shared in the Central Lot, the Classics Lot, and several more throughout the event!
We had a fantastic mix of classic and modern Mercedes-Benz vehicles in attendance! We saw everything from a member-owned 1955 190 SLR (Yes, an SLR!), which passed through the hands at Mercedes-Benz Classic Center, to a new MBCA Members slick GLE 63 S-Model Coupe! We had some of our favorite classic and modern Mercedes-Benz vehicles in attendance, including a gorgeous green 1967 250 SE coupe, and a one-owner custom-ordered 2000 E320 wagon with factory AMG enhancements!
One of our favorite daily drivers was a high-mileage CLK 430 coupe that just keeps going! In the United States, the CLK 430 could be equipped with a "Sport Package," which gave it the external styling of the more powerful CLK 55 AMG and equipped it with the same wheels and tires as its AMG counterpart. This allowed it to reach up to 0.83G's of lateral acceleration, and 66.5 mph on the slalom run.
Our favorite thing though was the passionate enthusiasts who showed up an hour or so early to secure a great spot with us! “The early bird gets the worm!” as they say, and we appreciate the dedication of our enthusiasts! Thank you to everyone who shared their Mercedes-Benz vehicles with us, it was great to hang out with fellow enthusiasts for the morning!

On Saturday, November 12, MBCA Southern Stars Section has been invited to The Brumos Collection “Saturday Social”, to display a curated collection of pre-selected vehicles. It is a great deal if you wish to purchase tickets to attend the event! Tickets include admission to our collection, with extra cars displayed outside. You’ll also hear unique engines from some of the collection, as they are demonstrated to attendees. From vintage VW buses to luxury cars, a wide variety of specialty cars from community members will be on display. UNF’s Osprey Racing Team will display and start their Formula SAE car, and food trucks will be onsite!

On Sunday, November 13, we will celebrate 55 years of AMG and 50 years of the S-Class, as the featured marque this year at the annual Ponte Vedra Auto Show! The Ponte Vedra Auto Show has been embraced by the community as one of the premier automotive events in North Florida. The event takes place in a family-friendly environment that allows the automotive hobby to be taught and passed to younger generations of enthusiasts. The show features up to 200 classic and collector cars all vying for the show’s awards. Gear up for what will be a great day of fantastic cars and family fun. Parking & admission are free to spectators.

Beginning around 7:00 am, Club leadership will begin to assemble in the “Central Lot” at Caffeine and Octane Jacksonville, to prepare for the event starting at 8:00 am and welcome fellow Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts. Aim for gate #3, to the slight left of the “Exotics Lot” if approaching from the Southside Blvd main entrance. Vehicles that cannot remain in the Central Lot from 8:00 -11:00 AM are asked to park in the Exhibit Lot for easier entry and departure.
If you do not bring your beverages, there are options galore! Chick-fil-A and restrooms in the Avenues Mall food court will open early for Caffeine and Octane attendees, at 7:30 am. (Yes, they serve coffee!)
