Southern Stars Section displayed history at the 2022 Jacksonville International Auto Show!
We were invited by the Jacksonville International Show Marketing Director at The Paragon Group to share half a dozen Mercedes-Benz vehicles representing some history, and it was a great event! The chance of rain and inclement weather understandably kept a few of the more valuable Mercedes-Benz cars safely tucked away out of the weather, it was an event that was enjoyed by many! Thankfully, we were able to arrange a few modern Mercedes-Benz cars to be shared on short notice!
Our oldest vehicle that braved the weather was a gorgeous restored 1958 220 SE Cabriolet shared by Member Jack Schmidt as part of his Mercedes-Benz collection. It was a huge hit, and everyone adored the curves! Our Board Member Carlos Malpartida shared his award-winning 1971 280 SL. He even drove from Alachua to Jacksonville to share his beautiful classic Pagoda!
There were two modern AMGs and a swoopy second generation CLS 550 shared as well. Membership Director and Vice President shared his Iridium Silver 2014 CLS 550 4-door coupe, and Section President Dave also shared his 2009 Iridium Silver SL 63 roadster. AMG enthusiast Nino Farhan graciously, and on short notice, shared his gorgeous Glacier White 2000 E 55 which was a huge hit!
Thank you so much to everyone who shared their Mercedes-Benz vehicles with us, braved the rain and shared their classics while it rained for a short time to a crowd that might not get to see this much Mercedes-Benz history often, and it was great to hang-out with fellow car enthusiasts and talk shop for a few hours!

Which Mercedes-Benz will you share at our next gathering?
No official registration is needed, although we would appreciate a quick message if you would like to attend. In January, we will aim for the Central Lot, for those who can stay in that lot from 8am-11am, as it is restricted entry and departure area for pedestrian safety. If you are unable to remain for that time frame, consider parking in the Exhibit Lot to visit the event, come say hi to us, and depart as you need to.
