Twenty-one folks in 12 cars attended this unique event.  We enjoyed a country drive and a German lunch at Zur Autobahn, an authentic German restaurant which sits on a Bosque County valley in the middle of nowhere. This quaint restaurant was established by Kornelia and Dieter Sedlmaier, and features Hessian cooking in a Teutonic setting.  The unique building was built by Dieter himself from the foundation up - with German doors and windows installed. The furnishings and decor complete the effect of a small neighborhood café, which can be found in a typical German village.

We met at the Cracker Barrel near Benbrook to form our convoy, and we proceeded on a great drive on country roads.  We traveled on a scenic, mostly twisty and hilly route through the North Texas Hill Country.

We had the small restaurant all to ourselves.  We started off with salad, followed by the main course of Schnitzel and Bratwurst with red cabbage and potato salad. Some opted for homemade dessert, and some brought their favorite libation to accompany their meal.
